Never Forget
Let's be honest. I have never been athletic. I played soccer until the fifth grade and maybe some t-ball. However, that mostly consisted of me sitting on the field picking flowers to make some sort of daisy chain. I took dance lessons most of my life and dabbled in cheerleading.
Does that count?
I've never considered myself to be "fit" or "thin" ... There was a time after college when I was too poor to buy food and worked a retail job where I ran around like a chicken with my head cut off. In addition, being 23, I went dancing religiously. (I am a danger to myself and others on the dance floor). I was probably close to 130 lb. here.
Since then, I've probably gained a solid 15-20lbs. People warned me about turning 25 and how your metabolism goes out the window. I think the weight snuck up on me as a result of working at a soul-sucking job where I sat on my butt for 8 hours a day. Also, my best friend/partner in crime/dance-soulmate moved to San Francisco.
This year I made a New Year's Resolution to take everything to the next level in my life. Spiritual, Career, and Fitness. This blog is focusing on the fitness aspect. I began the year by purchasing a gym membership. That hasn't been quite enough so as of this week I am trying out a new fitness program to kick it into high gear and to have accountability.
I plan on recording a food journal, work outs, pictures, motivational quotes and memes, and of course humor.
